Cheat sheet:

  • If you're looking for a word with one missing letter, use a period. Two missing letters, use two periods or {2}. Increase the number in the curly brackets to increase the number of characters, or insert a range with a comma in between, ex. {0,5}.
  • If you don't know how many characters are missing, use .*.
  • If you know which characters you want, use square brackets to find multiple spellings, ex. [יו] for yud or vav.

On the righthand page of verso there is a Judaeo-Arabic retelling of the Book of Esther, along with the words of Esther's prayer to God. This might be related to the lefthand page of recto. […] Saʿadya (active 1094–1111) and Sar Shalom ha-Levi (active 1170–95). There are also a few lines in Arabic script, mostly variants of 'mawlāy al-shaykh al-jalīl,' but there may be one or two names amidst the honorifics. In the tentative and deferential letter draft, the sender states that he wishes to travel soon 'with the Jews' and so he reminds the addressee of his promise made in his 'majlis' on the Sabbath, namely that he would issue a document (ikhrāj al-kitāb) concerning the sender's rights against a certain person and his children (ליכון בידי חגה לי עליה ועלי אולאדה), because that person made a legal acknowledgment in this document before the addressee (לאן קד אקר פי אלכתאב לסידנא).
