  • If you don't know how many characters are missing, use .*.
  • If you know which characters you want, use square brackets to find multiple spellings, ex. [יו] for yud or vav.

IB III, 20. Accounts, perhaps in the hand of one of Ibn Yijū’s workers; not his handwriting. […] Not edited in the India Book: an additional list of accounts on verso, written in Arabic script and Greek/Coptic numerals and headed by the glyph. One of the items on that list is zabada (civet), indicating that it is probably connected to the Judaeo-Arabic account. The word "fīlī" in Arabic script may also appear at bottom left.

Recto: An account related to the production of cane sugar. A ḍarība seems to be an amount of cuttings you have to plant, and each ḍarība yields a certain amount of sugarcane. […] After being pressed and boiled, the juice will yield 5¾ qinṭārs of sugar (around 250 kg), whose total value is 13,750 dinars, an enormous quantity of money. 5 dinars for each qinṭār (28.75 dinars in total) must be paid to the miller who pressed the sugar cane (0.2% of the profit). Accounts in Judaeo-Arabic on a large bifolio with a few lines in Arabic. Dating is 18th- or 19th-century based on the Ottoman kurush reference in Arabic and perhaps post-1707 if the word "גנזרילי" on the verso was intended as a reference to the gold cinzirli (the spelling is somewhat unclear for this to be certain). Some of the account entries mention names, such as: Abdaraḥman al-Maghribī and Raḥamīm Gershon.
