The writer emphasizes the urgency of his request, "for I am among the dead/perishing."

The monetary figures are expressed throughout in silver kuruş which is frequent referenced by the shorthand symbol "ق" and the gold maḥbūb is also mentioned at least once on the verso. The usage of both these coinage types helps to date the fragment as post-1703CE (when kuruş began to appear in wide circulation: Pamuk, A Monetary History of the Ottoman Empire, 160). […] Some of the individuals mentioned include: Yaʿaqov Reʾuven, Yosef Ḥasōn, Saʿad Pinṭo, al-Ḥajj Ḥuseyn al-Ābī[?], and Ḥayyīm Ḥanān. On the verso, the lists are more scattered yet follow a format similar to the recto where more names can be found among the accounts: Ḥayyīm Zagdun.

If he violates the agreement, Yosef must pay twenty mithqāls 'to the poor of Almeria and the captives.' The deed was written by a professional scribe, but the addition on verso is by Ḥalfon himself. Just as document ח26 (PGPID 9068) opens with the statement of the active partner, Yosef b. Shuʿayb Ibn al-Najera, who received money from Ḥalfon to trade in, so here Ḥalfon gave money to Yosef to trade in. […] Since it was agreed that if Yosef broke the agreement, he will give twenty mithqāls 'to the poor of Almeria and to the captives', this document was presumably written in Spain, at the time when Ibn Al-Najera visited Ḥalfon, in Lucena, at the beginning of July 1138.

This fragment concerns ownership interest in a partnership between Mōda‘ and Avraham al-‘Assāl. In the document, Mōda‘ calls upon Abū al-Faraj al-Bazzāz to testify that Mōda‘ has an interest in the partnership, while Avraham seems to claim that he or he and his wife are the sole owners of the capital. […] Subsequently, Mōda‘ seems to have called two individuals – one (perhaps a scholar) identified only as Head of the Congregations ("Rosh ha-Qehillot"), and Abū al-Faraj – to the shop to clarify the nature of his relationship with Avraham.

Tujjār's sister-in-law's husband, Abū l-ʿAlāʾ b. Yosef ha-Kohen, produces Arabic deeds, not confirmed by a Jewish court, showing that the children's grandmother had sold him those shares.
