The subject declares that he has no assets, and has received sustenance from his nephew Yosef b. Yiṣḥaq. According to Goitein the deed was drawn up as a defense against potential government claims that the nephew had inherited something from the uncle, and thus should be taxed; exemplifies how common it was for uncles to bequeath to their nephews.

The groom's name is Avraham b. [...] Roṣano. The total ketubba valuation is 150 reales abū ṭāqa.
Appears to have been torn and reused as the cover page for a literary volume, as verso has an ownership note for 'this daftar,' and a title: Alfāẓ Tafsīr wa-Ghayruh (sounds like a miscellany partly consisting of a biblical commentary) of ʿAmram b. Moshe al-Maghribī.

Witnessed by Ḥayyim Garyani (גריאני) and Meʾir Ben-Naʿim who signed on behalf of the groom and likely as scribe/witness in the lower right corner of the document (an identical ornamental ligature from the bottom of his seal is extant).
Letter from Shemuel b. Yehuda ha-Bavli to Berakhot he-Haver. Shemuel writes that after searching the book dealers of Egypt for rare titles, he learned in Alexandria that the Greeks had many schools with fine scholars, and so he has made up his mind to go on to Thebes and Salonika in Greece after Passover.
Dated: Adar 1422 Seleucid, which is February–March 1111 CE, under the authority of the Nagid Mevorakh b. Seʿadya (who died in December of the same year).
However it is notable that the first page (verso, left side) is headed with the name of al-Qāḍī Abū l-Ḥusayn b. Ayyūb(?), and the specific transactions reference government bureaus in several places, e.g.
Yūsuf al-Wāsiṭī... a Sicilian coppersmith (ṣāniʿ nuḥās siqillī)... sayyid ʿUthmān... ʿImrān b. Makārim who collected money for a fine blanket (malḥafa rafīʿa)...
The other side: Remnants of another legal document (two witness statements) and, in large letters, a pious statement and a note mentioning the daughter of al-Sharīf Ibrāhīm b. Ṭāhir al-[...]. The document seems to be repurposed for something, perhaps in a clothing item given the remnants of stitching-like holes on its edges.
The deceased is ʿAlāʾ bt. Abū l-ʿAlāʾ b. Bū Saʿīd (Khan suggests this is the same Bū Saʿīd as in T-S NS 297.1, another report of the death of a Jewish woman).
