    Letter from Yaʿqūb b. Salmān al-Ḥarīrī, Tripoli (al-Shām), to Nahrāy b. Nissīm, Fusṭāṭ. Commodities mentioned include wheat, figs, and cotton. Goitein dates the letter to seven weeks before T-S 8J19.27 (PGPID 7670), approximately 458–59/1066 (Goitein, Letters of Medieval Jewish Traders, 46n2), during the shidda al-ʿuzma in Egypt, when traders were eager to secure whatever food they could: "You know the times we are in, do not delay, these are difficult times."

    Business letter. In Judaeo-Arabic. Dating: Ca. 15th century (no earlier thah 1415 CE), as it mentions the currency niṣṣ/nuṣṣ/half (i.e., the muʾayyadī). Also mentions the currency jadīd in the sense of 'not even a penny.' Deals in part with business in wine, with an interesting passage: "I was left a quarter of a human being. The smell of the wine was wafting, and the goy said. . . " Needs further examination.
