Ya'ish, expressing the wish to give up the hard "service of the people" (public office) for another profession, for he is weak or sick (ḍaʿīf) and frail (naḥīf al-jism). Information from Goitein's notecards and Mediterranean Society II, 87-88.
1 Discussion
The addressee and his companions on the boat are all asked to contribute, and it is suggested that this good deed will increase the likelihood of a safe trip.
He asks him not to detain the old woman from coming, but rather to assist her in coming quickly, because the writer's wife ("al-ṣughayyira") is sick and they are perishing of isolation and "there is no one to fill a jug of water for us."
Mentioning someone's brother and al-Nezer. The writer then asks the addressee to pass on his copious excuses for not having rendered sufficient service to someone who has bestowed much favor (tafaḍḍulāt) upon him.
The bride's name is Sitt al-Ahl. The signatories are X b. Yeḥezqel, Menashshe b.

Dating: Probably 19th century, as it is written on grid paper. The hand and all the names are typical of Yemen. The writer provides a report of how he and his wife have fared since arriving in Jerusalem.
Avraham, known as son of the poet, acknowledges a debt of 600 nuqra dirhams to the sons of Abu al-Munajja, Sa'adya and [name left blank]. He will pay back 80 dirhams every month.

Petition in Judaeo-Arabic with a Hebrew beginning for financial assistance addressed to Rabbenu Avraham, can be dated by script to around the 13th century (i.e. probably Avraham Maimonides). Yosef al-Andalusi has spent three months in Fustat, his robe is torn and the authorities are demanding the capitation tax from him.
List of three bills of divorce, apparently notes of a court scribe. (1) Husband: Sālim b. Avraham. Wife: [...]b al-Dīn bt. Maṣliaḥ. (2) Husband: David b. Yaʿaqov.
Mentions some neighborhoods of Fustat, including Qālūs and Sūq al-Kabira, and descriptions of a property. Probably a deed of sale.
The preface mentions a lover striving to appease his beloved by becoming her guide (dalīl) so that she has a change of heart (yaʿṭifu qalbuhu ʿalayya). The rhyme (rawī) of the qaṣida on recto is 'dāl' and 'ʿain' on verso, preceded by a short preface.
Some of the entries use the unit qirāṭ. All of the numbers are written out with words rather than numerals.
Muḥammad Ḥusain acknowledges (aqarra wa ashada) in his sound mind that he owes 900 Kuruş in debt (شهد بذلك يكون ملزوم 900 ق) to Ḥusain al-Baṣrī(Naṣrī?). The document is dated 26 Muḥarram 1260/16 Feb 1844.

A wide array of names are listed along with corresponding monetary figures, such as: Barukh Meṣlīḥ, Yehuda Qudsī, Nissim Mosseri, Yosef Zeytūn, and many others.
Among the items listed, from the recto there are: almonds, sugar, hummus[?] ("חומוץ"), beans, silk, lemon, and many other items on both sides of the fragment.
