Among the six entries, the mention of "gasto" is helpful and may suggest that the list is related to expenses. There is also mention of "mercado" which is likely a literal "market" in this case, rather than a male first name. One of the entries in Ladino mentions "הקונטאנטי" (ha-kontante) which commonly appears in early modern Rabbanite legal documents in connection with the monetary/material wealth that brides received and/or contributed toward their weddings.

Late accounts in Judaeo-Arabic on a bifolium that is suggestive of the existence of a broader ledger (which is also attested to by this fragment's joins). The owner of the ledgermentions being in Alexandria in the year 1583 CE (Iyyar 5343) in the middle portion of the verso and in the same entry mentions "Ibrāhīm Basha" which may constitute a reference to a state official. At the top of the verso, the scribe also mentions a transaction with one Yiṣḥaq b. Rozel in which silver medin coinage is in use "מיידי".

Elsewhere in the letter there are at least two references to how the Qaraites are the enemies of the addressee and they must not be allowed to gloat. Also mentions the sending of a valuable garment (thawb Arjīshī(?)); a request that the addressee send a half-mithqāl of Indian tutty, because one of the sender's eyes is having problems; the addressee's intended trip to Aleppo, and advice that he take care of himself and take medicines (or possibly the opposite, "don't drink too many medicines").

The spiritual leader of al-Maḥalla had left them two years ago. On Sabbaths and holidays, people sat under the sycamores in the streets instead of attending synagogues and lectures. The Nagid Mevorakh decided to send the spiritual leader back after having warned him to make himself acceptable.
