Eliyyahu, in Fustat, to his cousin (ibn ʿamm) Abū l-Barakāt al-Ḥarīrī b. Abū Manṣūr, in Alexandria. He alludes to political unrest and war between Christians and Muslims ("the family of Edom is embroiled with the Ishmaelite," r12–13), and he discusses the marriage of his cousin (bint ʿamma) to Hibatallāh Ibn al-ʿAmmānī and notes that "she is not honored by him, he is honored by her" (i.e., the bride's social class is superior to that of the groom). Many greetings at the end, including to the widow of Abū l-Faraj Ibn Alqāsh. (Information in part from Mediterranean Society, III, p. 5)
