Dating: circa 1736 CE or later (per Hathaway) based on the mention of the Ottoman gold coin zeri maḥbūb which was first minted in Cairo in 1736 CE(?) (although the earliest coins from Cairo in Uslu's numismatic catalogue date to 1143 AH/ 1730 CE). It should also be noted, that 1703 CE (1115 AH) marked the first year these coins were minted in Istanbul, therefore yielding a plausible chronological threshold over three decades earlier (Kaan Uslu et. al., Osmanlı İmparatorluğu Madeni Paraları, 69, 114-115).

This dated entry also mentions S[eñor] Yiṣḥaq Menashshe and lists a variety of coinage types such as "old one ducats / דוקאדו ישן אונו" and "new ducats / דוקאדוס מואיבוס". Given the dating of the fragment, the latter coinage designation is likely not a reference to Venetian gold ducats, however, the "old one ducats" may refer to pre-1797 currency from Venice. Another coinage label takes form in "Mahmudi / מאחמודי" which is reference to money minted under the Ottoman Sultan Mahmud II.

Of the various types of coinage listed, the reference to "ibrahimis" helps date this fragment as post-1520 CE, because this term likely denotes coinage minted according to standards of Avraham Castro's tenure as the overseer of the Ottoman mint in Cairo (post-1520-1524 CE).

Accounts in Judaeo-Arabic and eastern Arabic numerals on verso with occasional notes indicating that specific quantities are in different types of coinage. For example, the silver kuruş ("גרש") is attached to certain figures and others bear the designation of "תקיל/ثقيل" indicating coinage of a weight higher than current standards– which helps date this fragment to no earlier than 1690 CE when the earliest variants of the Ottoman kuruş may have been produced (Pamuk, A Monetary History of the Ottoman Empire, 160).
