In the first section, lines 9-10r echo the structure of the drafts in the join ENA 2716.10r and also the third section of the same page (l.26-31r) in ENA 2716.11. […] And the unit of weight "אוקה" is in also use (l.24). On the verso a wide variety of quantities in various Ottoman coinage denominations are listed often with respective numerical quantities, for example: gold "maḥbūb Istanbuli" (l.11v) and silver kuruş (l.13).

Benaya, in Tinnīs, to Barhūn b. Mūsā al-Tāhartī al-Maghribi, in Fustat, both prominent in the Geniza correspondence of the eleventh century. The writer mentions merchants from the Maghreb, Syria, and Iraq doing business in the busy Mediterranean seaport. He probably alludes to his illnesses in lines r3–6: "You tasked me with buying ladies' caps (maʿājir), but you know what a 'pain' (wajaʿ) it is, especially selling clothing in Tinnīs, from morning to evening. I relapsed only twice due to the burdens I take upon myself (mimmā najūr ʿalā nafsī). But today, praise be to God, I am in every state of well-being."

[…] After the trip of one relative to India, ʿAmram was left alone, and the loneliness only worsened after the trip of someone else (perhaps Ḥalfon himself). There is news of the arrival of another merchant, Yiṣḥaq al-Sijilmāsī; ʿAmram repeats his request to Ḥalfon to send him the commentary on Isaiah; he asks for help with the paperwork necessary for the estate of a family member of Ḥalfon.

It shares with the British Museum fragment of Sefer Miẕvot the peculiarity of using zayin to express j; it also uses gimel for the same purpose, whereas the British Museum fragment employs ṣade as an alternative letter to express j. […] (The Ahwāz document may also be Karaitic: it concerns the Tustarī brothers, according to Professor Goitein, and they are known to have been Karaites.) […] The said Ḥayyim and Aharon were also agreeable to this manner and departed from the court of the Karaites (with agreement) as to this manner.
