  4. the groom, b. master X, and he declared, in-
  5. tentionally, willingly, voluntarily,
  6. and of his own choice; and he is not coerced,
  7. not vexed, not distressed, not enticed,
  8. and not intoxicated, rather with complete faculties
  9. and with full senses (that) he desires to marry
  10. this X daughter of master X.
  11. And he undertook to esteem, honor,
  12. nourish, provide for, and clother her,
  13. in the manner of Jewish men who esteem,
  14. honor, nourish, provide for,
  15. and clothe their wives faithfully.

  1. of which the advanced portion is so much; and so
  2. much will be postponed, incumbent upon him.
  3. He has (already) paid to her so many
  4. dinars of her advanced portion, for so
  5. did they declare to her ⟦that the advanced portion⟧ \\in our presence,//
  6. viz. that they had collected it from his hand.
  7. And he acquired her as wife and mother
  8. of children, according to the Torah and the law.
  9. There remain incumbent upon him so many
  10. dinars, a strong, firm debt.
  11. And these are what she brought in with her
  12. from the house of her fathers. And some
  13. say, "You are betrothed to me and (you are) mequddeshet

  12. גמורים יבנו ויצליחו

  1. cup and by its contents, according to the Torah
  2. and halakha, according to the law of Moses and Israel."
  3. And he hands to her the edge of the marriage contract.
  4. And he gives the groom to drink from the cup.
  5. He lets go of the marriage contract, and he begins 
  6. to give the bride the cup to drink.
  7. And he says to her, "Take this cup
  8. and this marriage contract, so that you will be to me—
  9. and you will enter by (receiving) them—as wife—into jurisdiction—
  10. by it, to me as wife—according to the Torah and halakha,
  11. according to the law of Moses and Israel, in complete
  12. qiddushin." May they build and prosper!
