The portion on T-S NS 290.75 includes the phrase "we are all content with" (כלנא ראצין ב . . .). Several documents indicate that although Moshe lived in Qalyūb, he regularly came into Cairo for work (e.g., as a scribe) and to Fustat to see his wife and father and brother.     Letter to the Nubian eparch Īsū in Ibrīm from the qāḍī Abū l-Faḍl Muḥammad ibn al-Fātiḥ. The qāḍī is writing from Aswān, where he has just arrived safely. He asks Īsū to extend his protection towards his colleague (ṣāhib) and the bearer of this letter, Hibat Allāh ibn Ibrāhīm ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Qulzumī. The letter indicates that an armed garrison post played an important role in controlling the flow of traffic in this transitional zone between Egypt and Nubia. Abū l-Faḍl Muḥammad asks Īsū to extend his protection towards Hibat Allāh's colleagues in the armed garrison post (al-maslaḥa or al-musallaḥa).
