How to Search

General Search

Use keywords or phrases in any language to return matching or similar results across all fields. Arabic script searches will return both Arabic and Judaeo-Arabic transcription content.

Regular Expression Search

Use Hebrew or Arabic script to find precise matches in the transcriptions. See How to Search page for advanced use cases.

Cheat sheet:

  • If you're looking for a word with one missing letter, use a period. Two missing letters, use two periods or {2}. Increase the number in the curly brackets to increase the number of characters, or insert a range with a comma in between, ex. {0,5}.
  • If you don't know how many characters are missing, use .*.
  • If you know which characters you want, use square brackets to find multiple spellings, ex. [יו] for yud or vav.

  15. 1113State documentT-S Ar.51.106

This probably dates to just before the reassignment of iqṭāʿ properties in 1107-1108 CE, when state revenues had dwindled and government officials were harassing the owners of iqṭāʿāt for revenue. A Fatimid state official by the title ʿAmīd al-Dawla appears in at least seven documents (see: T-S AS 145.353, BL OR 5561A.2, ENA NS 48.20, CUL Or.1080 J156, T-S 10J21.10, and T-S 10J23.2). […] T-S K25.214). The second official by the same title appears mostly in Judaeo-Arabic documents dated around 1140–50 and was a Jewish state official named Yiṣḥaq b.
