الوصف

Recto: Legal document in which Esther grants power of attorney to her betrothed, ʿEli b. Yiṣḥaq ha-Levi, to collect money due from her brother Natan. Signed by Shemuel b. Tekhelet(?) and Eliyya b. Moshe. Location: Palermo (פלורמו). Date: Unknown, probably 11th century. (Information in part from CUDL and Goitein's index card.) Verso: faded Arabic script, maybe accounts or maybe related to the legal document on recto, mentioning textiles (e.g., brocade/dībāj) and colors, quantities, and other characteristics.
