תיאור

Informal note addressed to Mukarram and Abū Manṣūr. In Judaeo-Arabic. They are requested to convey the dinar they had pledged for the first installment of the capitation tax to al-Shaykh al-Makīn Abū l-ʿIzz al-Levi. It will be used to pay the capitation tax of a cantor. (Information from Mediterranean Society, V, p. 511)

  1. The shaykh Mukarram and the shaykh Abū Manṣūr, 
  2. (may their) R(ock) p(rotect them), shall kindly deliver to the most illustrious shaykh
  3. al-Makīn Abuʾl-ʿIzz the Levite 
  4. (may his) R(ock) p(rotect him) a gold dinar, which they pledged
  5. during a collection for the first installment of the poll tax,
  6. to be paid for the poll tax of the cantor. And peace.
