Legal deed for the purchase of a house by a descendant of the Ṭabāṭabā family. Dating: early 5th/11th century. See also T-S Ar. 38127 (early 6th c AH), which mentions a house in Fustat in the khiṭṭa of Tujīb known as "the house of the Banī Ṭabāṭabā." (information from Khan, ALAD, p. 88-90)

  2. [This is what Muḥammad ibn] Ismaʿīl ibn al-Qāsim ibn Ibrāhīm ibn Ismaʿīl ibn  Ibrāhīm ibn al-Ḥasan ibn al-Ḥasan ibn ʿAlī [ … ibn Ṭabāṭabā] bought  [ … ]  

  3. [ … ] this large house enclosure. It is the house that is situated in Fusṭāṭ - Miṣr, in the area of [ … ]  

  4. [ … ] with which [i.e. the southern boundary] its door  communicates. The second boundary, which is the northern, extends to the house known (by the name of) 

  5.   [ …] …  which belongs to this large house, which is defined in  this document, and all [ … ]  

  6. [ … ] the aforementioned house. The fourth boundary, which is the western,  extends to the house that is known by (the name of) ʿIsā ibn Yaʿqūb [ … ]
