Recto
- The complaint reached us regarding the benefit we had from him. [gap]
- The sijill mukarram came down from the glorious presence, mentioning what
- Sibāʿ ibn Faraj the Jew had reported concerning the condition of the Jewish dhimmīs
- in Tiberias, that among them are those who pay for their jizya five dirhams
- at a fixed rate, and others who pay ten dirhams, and that some of them claim
- to be Khaybarī. This was the reason for his covetousness toward us, strengthening
- his hand in oppressing us, and demanding payment from us through assessment at the highest jizya,
- and meanwhile we have receipts going back many years indicating what each person pays.
