Description

Letter from Yosef b. Yaʿaqov al-Kohen, probably in Minyat Ghamr, to Eliyyahu the judge, in Fustat. In Judaeo-Arabic. Dating: early 13th century. The sender reports that he had found no livelihood in Bilbays but had settled in Minyat Ghamr. There he had agreed with Avraham אלמורקי, the bearer of the letter, that the latter would bring the sender's wife and 40 dirhams from Alexandria. (Information from CUDL and Goitein's index card.)
