Court notebook in the hand of Ḥalfon b. Menashshe ha-Levi. Fol. 1v: Two entries. Location: Fustat. Both dated Tuesday, 2 Av 1438 Seleucid = 12 July 1127 CE. (1) In which the parnas Abū ʿAlī b. Maṣliaḥ and Khalaf b. Ibrāhīm al-Fuqqāʿī testify that Sittūna bt. Abū l-Riḍā Ibn Ḥadīda, the wife of Abū Saʿd al-Zajjāj, has appointed Avraham b. Aharon(?) ha-Kohen as her representative in suing her brother Abū l-Mufaḍḍal and for אלנטר פי חרמהא, whatever that means. Her husband Abū Saʿd also appeared and 'signed over to her' this power of attorney. Signed by Avraham b. Shemaʿya he-Ḥaver; Yiṣḥaq b. Shemuel ha-Sefaradi; and Ḥalfon b. Menashshe. (2) Faḍāʾil b. Salāma acknowledges that he has received 2.75 dinars from Bāqī b. Ṭayyib and that he will deliver 1.75 dinars to his mother and 1 dinar to someone else. He will not be released from responsibility until proof of receipt arrives from Damascus. Signed by Avraham b. Shemaʿya and Yiṣḥaq b. Shemuel.
