  • If you're looking for a word with one missing letter, use a period. Two missing letters, use two periods or {2}. Increase the number in the curly brackets to increase the number of characters, or insert a range with a comma in between, ex. {0,5}.
  • If you don't know how many characters are missing, use .*.
  • If you know which characters you want, use square brackets to find multiple spellings, ex. [יו] for yud or vav.

Upper fragment: Letter in the hand of Yosef b. Shemuel b. Seʿadya (court scribe, active ca. 1181–1209). He is describing a marital dispute: "...four sessions... in the last session, and that they... with them, and when that was said to me, I sent... with what was said to me, and I chastised him and restrained him in that, and he said... to him the duty that she should move from this place to another.... Some time later, he came to me screaming for help, saying, 'Divorce me from this woman lest I kill her and lose my life on her account,' and I said to him, 'What is the meaning of this?'

Business letter from Khalaf b. Ḥammād(?) b. Hiba to Abū l-Ḥasan ʿAllūn (?) b. [...]. In Arabic script. Mentions various sums in the hundreds of dirhams. Most of the letter seems to consist of a commodity list with quantities and/or prices. Among the products mentioned are tropical almonds and sandalwood. There is also a cipher of "addā", meaning paid, at the top left corner indicating the payment of 67 dirhams, probably a later annotation.
