Description / Bio

Enslaved child mentioned in a letter ca. 1080 CE, he died at a young age probably before reaching adolescence. The reference to the child's death appears in l. 5 on the letter's verso. (Information from PGP and Craig Perry, Slavery and the Jews of Medieval Egypt, Appendix 1, no. 124)
