Court deed, in which five representatives of the Alexandrian Jewish community, Yosef b. Avraham (known as ʿIrāqī), Binyamin b. Simḥa, Ṣedaqa b. Yosef, Khallūf b. Saʿdān, and Marwān b. Efrayim, receive a donation of ten dinars given by Yosef b. Khalaf Ibn al-Bannāʾ (the mason), and delivered by Thābit b. Ṭoviyya ha-Kohen (known as the Babylonian), for the building of the holy ark of the Great (i.e. the Palestinian) Synagogue in Alexandria. Location: Alexandria. Dated: Wednesday, 9 Tammuz 4793 = 9 June 1033 CE. Witnessed by the teacher Sarī b. Ḥayyim, Aharon b. Yehuda, Shelomo b. [...] ha-Kohen, and Menūḥa b. Yosef ha-Kohen. (Information from CUDL.)
