The servant Shemaryā b. David—may the spirit of the Lord give him rest!—
-
greets his high and lofty excellency, the most illustrious
-
shaykh, his lordship, the munificent, gracious,
-
‘the Successful,’ ‘the Auspicious’—may God make his honored position permanent,
-
renew his good fortune and crush his enemies!—greets him
-
with profuse wishes for his well-being—and may He make it possible to meet him speedily,
-
God willing! I inform you
-
—may God make your felicity permanent!—that my letters to you
-
have already been sent in the blessed Kārim.
-
Accordingly, the servant can dispense with
-
repeating their content in this letter. And I [. . .].}
