Fragment of a letter in Arabic script. Dating: likely Mamluk-era based on the hand. The sender refers to witnesses in the village or estate (fī l-ḍayʿa al-shuhūd); and he seems to refer to his sword dating from the days of his father (wa-huwa sayf al-mamlūk. . . wa-hādhā l-sayf min ʿahd wālid al-mamlūk); and perhaps that he will deliver the sword to Ismāʿīl who will deliver it to the addressee. Merits further examination. On verso there is a spell in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Judaeo-Arabic for inflaming somebody's heart with love.
