Tax memorandum (tadhkira) from the archive of Abū l-Ḥasan b. Wahb for his ḍamān on a dyeworks (maṣbagha) in Sinnūris. Dated: 28 Shawwāl 401 (4 June 1011). Measurements: 6.3 x 8.6 cm. Along with T-S AS 177.257 (PGPID 37138) and T-S AS 178.233 (PGPID 18599), one of three receipts found so far that specify that Abū l-Ḥasan’s ḍamān is for a dyeworks (maṣbagha) rather than dyeing (ṣabgh or ṣibgh). Written by the jahbadh Abū Baqqām (or possibly Bifām) Qufrī ibn Abū l-? Afrahām (as is T-S AS 177.257). Trigger: yudhkar (“it has been recorded”) rather than more common trigger in the Abū l-Ḥasan b. Wahb corpus, ṣaḥḥa. Both this document and T-S AS 177.257 bear the notation nuqila ("it has been copied") on line 2, which indicates that the amount paid had been transferred to the daily registers. Does not contain requests for validation at the top, so represents a different mechanism of documentation from the ṣaḥḥa type. Other texts on the same support: the verso contains four lines from the right side of a document that may be a letter.
