- In your name, O Merciful.
- May God grant peace to our master and teacher Maṣliaḥ haKohen,
- Head of the yeshiva “The Pride of Jacob,” may his authority last forever.
- Concerning what I will inform your honor, namely, your maidservant has been married to him
- Fifteen years now, and never received from him a thing
- Absolutely (nothing), not even the entrance fee for the bathhouse. Until this very day
- That I am with him, he did not (even) provide (lit. dress) me with underclothing, and your maidservant
- Complains about him, the harm and beatings; he keeps saying to me:
- “Redeem yourself.” And for what he does to me, may God impose on him the delayed payment (punishment);
- He is supposed to pay me what is in my ketubba since I suffer from this
- Bad character and from this harm for fifteen years.
- I implore God and you because I am a captive—
- Redeem me!
