Fragment of a letter in Judaeo-Arabic. The story is interesting but fragmented. Refers to a girl (ṣabiyya) who is in an agitated state (takhruj min ḥāl ilā ḥāl) and a female slave (jāriya) whom the sender blames for various problems. "She has perfected [...] and whoring and lying. . . for the neighbors said to my brother, "Get up! . . . yourself, since when something happens to your household, we are innocent of it. . . with them in this madness (khabṭ). . . everyone in the city is telling him to sell her, because if she remains with the girl (al-ṣaghīra), [she will remain?] agitated. . . For my mother, God have mercy on her, did not [get stricken with a fatal illness?] except because of her. My brother swore by the Torah that if there should remain in [our?] possession this female slave. . . until you come, and he will see what should be done with her. . . Efrayim is incapable. . . and she is dreadful (fazʿāna). . . (everyone) greets you with peace, and Sitt al-Umam. . . ."
