Accounts for small quantities of silk in Judaeo-Arabic and Hebrew numerals. Dating: probably 11th or 12th century. This fragment illuminates that the term laʿāliʿ ("lustrous/gleaming") and mabrūm ("twisted") are two distinct categories of silk goods. Although laʿāliʿ as a textile term is not found in dictionaries, the context here suggests that it refers to untwisted silk as opposed to the the more matte twisted kind. The colors listed here include lāzuwardī, qirmiz, aḥmad shadīd, akhdār, abyaḍ, and aṣfar.
