תיאור

Late letter in Judaeo-Arabic addressed to Avraham Dayyan from Binyamin de Curiel and Avraham Crespin. These men are known from other fragments. Dating: probably 18th- or 19th century based on those mentioned and paleography but there is likely a damaged date in the first line with a 54[..] AM year. Only the ת 400 numeral is legible without enhanced imaging. Rashīd (Rosetta) is mentioned in line 9, Istanbul in l. 21, and possibly Venice somewhere, but these references may only be describing goods. The verso mentions a certain Yaʿaqov Portos in line 21 in connection with the port city of Damietta (קפןטקייא). Requires further examination. MCD.
