Fragment of a letter in Judaeo-Arabic in which the writer reports how he left al-Maḥalla, either taking or intending to take 'the little ones' with him, but setbacks ensued. The phrase "farāgh al-khalīj" appears; maybe a branch of the Nile ran dry? People tried to scare this person concerning the children (מע תכויף אלנאס לי פי נקלא אלצגאר). Goes on to mention the good deeds of a community and a letter from the qāḍī. Needs further examination.
