- The ongoing tax assessment (?) assigned as an iqṭāʿ was not subject to the
- imposition of a canal official (muwaẓẓaf al-jusūr), nor to any claim of dīwānī dues,
- for its inhabitants over a period of years. However, the officials
- have now begun to exact [payment] from them through the appointment of a canal official and tax collector (gharīm).
- The ʾamīr orders that an inspection (kashf) be conducted concerning [this matter] …
