תיאור

Two fragments of a mercantile letter from Marwan b. Ibrāhīm al-Maghribi, unknown location, to Yosef b. Avraham al-Maghribī, in al-Raqqa. In Judaeo-Arabic, with the address written in both Judaeo-Arabic and Arabic script. The Arabic-script address gives the addressee as Abū Ibrāh[īm] Isḥāq "al-Maghāriba" (this last word may mean that it should be delivered to the neighborhood of the Maghribīs in Raqqa). The Judaeo-Arabic hand and orthography are unusual, reminiscent of the early Judaeo-Arabic papyri (e.g., PER H 33 (PGPID 6127)). The letter mentions a person in Raqqa named Ḥasan b. Shelomo several times. Requires further examination for content.
