Letter from a husband to his wife and in-laws. In Judaeo-Arabic. Dating: ca. 15th–16th century. Opens with greetings for the sender's brother-in-law, mother-in-law, Sultaniyya, the children, and their mother. Then: "When you write to tell me that I have not given you the 81 medins of alimony every month, you are lying through your teeth. I left you 40 silver medins the day you traveled from me, and I sent you with Ibn al-Ṣayrafī a golden ashrafī. . . . " The letter continues in this vein, detailing the sums of money that have been sent at different times. Mentions names including Ibn al-Qawwaṣ (? אלקווץ), Hermoza, Ibn Qaṭan; and Ibn ʿAṭāʾ. Other currencies mentioned include ʿuthmānī and corona (קרונה). Also mentions specific conversion rates.
