תיאור

Unsigned deed. Location: Fustat. Dated: last decade of Iyyar 1528 = April/May 1217 CE. This is a second version of ENA 2559.13 (PGPID 6594), and the erasures from the earlier version are not found in this version. The document is about the origins (and implicitly, eligibility for marriage) of Akramiyya, who grew up in the house of the physician al-Asʿad. Goitein understood that she was purchased as a slave when she was still an infant and that she was later freed, however these facts are not stated explicitly.
