Description

Recto (secondary use): Inventory belonging to the synagogue of the Iraqis in Fustat. Dated: 8 Tammuz 1391 Seleucid = 28 June 1080 CE. The inventory is of items from the Babylonian synagogue in Fusṭāṭ that had been stored in the Palestinian synagogue. The list includes a great many books, including a 'codex of the Torah said to be in Rabbenu Saʿadya's handwriting' (ie in the handwriting of Saʿadya Gaʾon, line 18).
