Letter: T-S NS 164.minute fragments

Description

Numerous small fragments. Several are sizeable pieces of documents. (1) A larger brown piece in the middle of the third and fourth images. Recto is a legal query (מא יקול סידנא) concerning people who work in a dyehouse (maṭbakh). Verso seems to be in a different hand and refers to "the bearer" (of a letter), Abū l-Makārim, and a poor suffering man (עני בעל יסורין). (2) A medium-sized fragment in the middle of the rightmost column of the last images. Recto is almost blank. Verso is a letter fragment. The sender has arrived in a place where they do not know anybody and they are concerned about their enemies gloating. Phrases preserved: תעלם ענני וצל[ת] ... ולא נערף פיה אחד ... פתקדו ואנא מא נערפהם .... שמת ופי כל וקת נסלם... (3) A medium-sized fragment underneath #2 on this list. Might be phrases from a letter of appeal for help: אלתואב מן גהתה בללה .... נעמתה וסואלף... (4) A small fragment near the upper left of the final two images. Letter addressed to a notable? Recto has the words ען גלאלתהא ... בהדא אל... Verso mentions נאחיתה .... ועמל...
