Description

Legal record (#15) in a court register/pinqas from a Karaite beit din in Cairo (on f. 6v of Yevr.-Arab. I 328). Undated, but likely c. 1560 CE based on the dates in neighboring entries from the court register. ʿAbd al-Raḥīm b. David Fayruz makes a rental payment on his residence, which is held in the communal qodesh. The payment structure factors in ʿAbd al-Raḥīm's maintenance/upkeep costs for the property. On the next page of the court register he is listed as one of the residents of the communal qodesh: PGPID 41042 ll. 19-20. MCD.
