Credit instrument or private receipt Moss. Xa,3.1

Description

Recto: receipt with quantities expressed in Coptic alphanumerals, cut and reused for the documents on verso. Verso: receipt(?) for goods sold by (al-mubtāʿ ʿalā yad) Yahūdā (or Yaḥyā) b. Simḥa, including a chest (ṣundūq), a pair of something, lidded vessels (marfaʿ), probably a mortar (hawun for hāwun), a chair (kursī), and a bible or codex (muṣḥaf), with quantities (of money?) expressed in Coptic numerals. Headed by the glyph. It is also possible that recto and verso are from the same document, since the hand and layout appear similar, and the text on both sides is cut off at the short end of the paper.
