Description

Recto and verso (secondary use): Letter or letter draft(s) to Bashrān/Mevasser b. Yishay the "head of communities" and "faithful of the yeshiva." This is the follower of Natan b. Avraham who is otherwise only known from T-S 10J9.25 (PGPID 1569) dating to 1039 CE. There he is called only נאמן הישיבה הקדושה וראש הקהלות. Here he is addressed with additional honorifics including Nagid ha-ʿEda: אציל הזקנים ונסיך הנבונים . . . גביר התחכמנים בחיר המצבה . . . ונאמן הישיבה הוא כק מר ור בשראן נגיד העדה אלוף התעודה מהולל במקהלות וראש לכל הקהלות . . . .
