Description

Fragment of official correspondence concerning the administration of Upper Egypt. The first four lines are mostly preserved. "It is necessary to write a noble letter (kitāb karīm) to the administrator (mutawallī) of the [...] in Qūṣ in which it is conveyed that the area known as Abnūd neighboring the iqṭāʿ of [. . .] al-Murtaḍā al-Saʿīd Ṣifwat al-Khilāfa. . . ." Reused on verso for Hebrew text in rudimentary hand, and some Arabic jottings.
