Description

Fragment of a marriage contract giving details of the remarriage of a divorced couple. Tishrei 137_ Selucid/1058-1067 CE. Marriage gift 1+5 [total of six is listed, and the one survives, so five is implied]. Goitien estimates total dowry is around 30 dinars as about 1/3 of the list survives: 8 items with a total value of 10. (Information from Mediterranean Society, III, 391, 395, 448)
