- from your people, and behold, they deal
- with the things of magicians. [Jud]ge them
- (according to) the law of the Torah, and if not—I will uproot
- you from the world.” When
- R. Yehoshuʿa, and Marinus the elder of the Jews,
- and all those who were with them heard this, they took them (i.e., Yeshu and Yoḥanan),
- and shackled them in chains, and brought them
- to Tiberias. And they set up a tree for Yoḥanan
- the Dyer, and they hung him at five hours
- of the day, and after this they buried him. And after him
- And after him they brought Yeshu the wi[cked], and wanted

- At that moment R. Yehudah purified
- himself, and said the Ineffable Name, and flew up after him.
- When Yeshu saw R. Yehudah
- behind him, he went and hid himself in the cave of
- Elijah, and he said words of a spell, and
- the mouth of the cave was shut. (some words omitted) And he said thus: “Opening, opening,
- open up! For I am the messenger of the Holy One, blessed be He.”
- When the opening of the cave heard this,
- it opened up. Yeshu the wicked made
- [himself? like] a rooster, and went
