Description

Letter addressed to a man with many titles (rabbenu, ha-sar, ha-ḥasid). Rudimentary spellings. In Hebrew and Judaeo-Arabic, with a higher proportion of Hebrew than is usual. The writer mentions R. Mevorakh and various business transactions. The language is deliberately very vague: בשמ רחמ אעלם מרינו ורבינו אדונינו ועטארת ראשינו השר הייקר החכם והנבון ירום כבודו ויגדל הודו החסיד אעלמת אלמולי אן ר מבורך עשה בביתי הדבר ההוא והיה טוב ולא הוד . . . . . הסמנים שעשה על הכספים ובטלת מעה יום ען כמשה דראהם ולקח אותם ו . . . למחנה המלך אצרף ומא וקף אליה אלא מקדאר עשרה ק{ר}אריט . . . גאבהם אלי אצלח/ת/הם לה פאללה אללה תגתמע בה אדא גא מן אשפר
