Description

Official letter in Arabic script. Fragment (upper left piece). The addressee is an amīr with various titles including [...] al-salāṭīn. ِA state official by the name of Hilāl al-Dawla is mentioned and someone "al-Muʾayyad". Refers to a district (nāḥiya) known as [...] Ṭanāḥ(?). The content is difficult to read. On verso, the document header reads as "Mablagh mā waṣal min al-ghallāt", referring to the receipt of produce/harvest. The allowance/ salary (jāmakiyya) of an amīr with the title ʿAlam al-Dawla, who probably oversaw the transport of the produce, is also mentioned. The word Ṭanāḥ (or Ṭabbākh?), also appears. There are also other text blocks. On verso there is also a Hebrew poem. Needs examination.
