Description
Official report to a superior concerning the ḍamān in Damīra. Complete. The writer, in deferential chancery style, reports to a superior authority on matters relating to tax-farmers (ḍāmin al-kharāj), including the administration of the revenues of Damīra and possibly a sāqiya. Mentions a ḥammām with flowing water, probably indicating that it is ready for someone to take over the ḍamān. The document discusses the implementation of instructions received from the addressee, the status of current and prospective tax-farmers, and procedures requiring authorization from the dīwān. It further refers to the possible sale or sequestration of certain assets or revenue rights. Several passages are difficult to read, and some identifications remain tentative. Needs examination. Reused in the margins and on the verso for a magical text in Arabic script (in a different hand).

- بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
- قد كان خدمة مملوكها ثبت الله النعم عندنا وعندها واهلك عدوها
- وضدها صدرت الى مجلسها السامي بما يغني عن اعادة
- ذاك على جملته من تاخره عن مجلسها السامي لشد مما هو فيه
- ولما وصل امرها بسبب ضامن الحمام والساقية امتثلت
- ذلك وقد توجهوا بما اقتدروا عليه الى بين يديها لان
- الحمامي اتفق جمركيته والعمل بيده واما ضامن حمام
- دميرة فانه يستحب وبقي قرور الحمام سابيه محضر من رغب
- في ضمانها وقد اخذ عليه التقرير بشرط استذان(=استئذان؟) الديوان
- المعمور وقد سير ملوكها التقرير قرين (؟) خدمته لسيدي رايها السامي
- فيه وانصاف(؟) حمام دميرة المستحب دان بدينه يساوي عليه
- فان حسن في رايها التقدم بـبيعـها(؟) او الحوط عليها
- والامر لها في ذلك اليه نيفها(؟) ومملوكها ان شا الله عقيب خدمته
- لان …… من تقبيل يديها انهى ذلك ولها رايها السامي
- في ذلك ان شا الله
