State document T-S Ar.39.97

Description

Possibly a fragment of a petition, or a legal document (mentions ṣaḥīḥ sharʿī in l. 2). The beginnings of 11 lines are preserved. Mentions the Naṣīra Dirham, which was the coin minted under the first Ayyubid emir al-Nāṣir Ṣalāḥ al-Dīn in 1187, and hence the document can be dated to the Ayyubid era. On the verso, there are accounts in Arabic script and Greek/Coptic numerals. Needs examination.
