Description

State document(s) concerning taxation. Both the left column of recto and the only column on verso begin "khidma(?) rafaʿahā Ṣadaqa b. Makārim al-jahbadh. . . . " Recto gives the name of a dīwān (al-ish[rāf?]), and it has an additional column on the right with various ʿalāʾim and registrations (e.g. "uʿturifat"). Verso preserves more of the explanation of the source of the tax revenue (...bi-l-mustakhraj min al-mujrī ʿalā yadihī min māl irtifāʿ al-marāḥim al-Gharbiyya...); the date 549 AH = 1154/55 CE; and several additional people's names including al-Qāḍī al-Rashīd Thiqat al-Mulk (probably the father of the famous poet, cf. CUL Or.1080 9.8 (PGPID 31437)), Mukhtār b. Yūsuf b. Jaʿfar, Najīb al-Dawla Abū l-Maʿālī Ṣāʿid, [...] b. Buṭrus, and Ṣadaqa b. Kirām. Merits further examination. ASE/YU
