1. [... And it rea]ched, after payment of a debt and the redemption of
2. [...] sixty-two and one half din. and a string of beads
3. of [a]mber divided by balls of interlaced gold,  
4. its middle interlaced gold, an estimate of its value being
5. thirty-[f]ive din., my inheritance in Al-Muʿizziya Cairo
6. at the Khalīj. And when this had been confirmed, I sent
7. to Ashkelon and I produced a legal record verifying
8. what I had said concerning [t]he mar[r]iage, and [on] it are aff[ixed]
9. the signatures of the permanent ḥaverim in [A]shkelon [...]
10. They are those who have been entrusted with renewing the marriage, writing the marriage contract,  
11. [and t]he betrothal. I am hereby presenting it in the presence of
12. ... and in your presence. And he presented us with a legal record
13. written in Ashkelon \\which contains a copy of the marriage contracts//. And this is its text, word  
14. for word: That which took place in our presence, we the witnesses
15. who have signed our testimony below on this deed.
16. Thus occurred: (His) h(onor), g(reatness and) h(oliness) (our) master and l(ord) Shelah, the honored prince, 

1. the esteemed, prince of the house of Israel [may the Rock of] Israel
2. [assist him], married Sitt al-Dalāl, (who was) sing[le],
3. daughter of (our) master ʿUlla, who is known as the "Trusted (official) of the S[tate]." 
4. And he took her in complete qiddushin. And w[e] hereby
5. copy the text of her marriage contract, after [it] had been [verified]
6. in our presence as is proper. This is its text, letter
7. for letter, except the verses which are  
8. above ... marriage contract. On the second day 
9. of the week, ten days in the month Shevaṭ,  
10. year four thousand, eight hundred  
11. and sixty A.M.,  
12. this marriage contract was written in the [ci]ty of  
13. Ashkelon which is situated on the shore of the great sea.
14. ‘I—(his) h(onor), g(reatness and) h(oliness) (our) master and l(ord)—Shelah—may He who dwells on high 
15. bless him and grant him fame and praise on earth,
16. prince of the house of Israel, may the Rock of Israel assist him
