Description

Receipt for waqf rental payment, in Arabic script. Dated: at the end of [Dhū] al-Ḥijja 1254 AH (1838 CE). Receipt for al-Khwājā Ibrāhīm al-Jūshīyā al-ṣarrāf for the house he rented in Ḥarat al-Yahūd in Darb al-Ḥamṣānī which is an endowment of Sitt Nafīsa al-Najdaliyya. The waqf overseer is listed as Selīm Agha whose ink stamp appears below his name in the right margin. The stamp also bears the corresponding year: ١٢٥۴, 1254 Hijrī. MCD
