Description

Business letter related to the India trade, mentioning commodities such as pepper, quantities of dinars and ʿAlī al-Fawfalī (a well-known nākhudā from the mid-12th-century) and Abū l-Faraj (another nākhudā). (Information in part from CUDL.) In the handwriting of the clerk of Maḍmūn b. Ḥasan; may be an indirect join with T-S AS 146.366 (PGPID 17411) and/or T-S AS 173.380 + T-S AS 152.242 (PGPID 38566). Also mentions the shipowner Budda and Ibn Fayyūmī, probably Avraham Ibn Fayyūmī (mentioned in II,20).
